karen and mike : 2009.7.26
FInally, Mike and Karen’s post. This was not an easy one to pull, I had way to many options.
Karen from Rockaway and Mike from Rockland. How the hell did these two meet? I know but I’m not telling!
We were all over the place on sunday. They figured glen island was the perfect in between, I agreed : )
But how cool would it have been to shoot the portraits under that L train.

Yeah we hung the dress from the sign, but we were careful, I swear.

Karen you know this but your eyes are insane. Dude, insane!

Jasons shot one of my favorites!

The calm after the storm
I had the privilege of working with Adam from Penny Lane Productions again, it is always super fun! Adam your the coolest.

Best of Yonkers
This past week I was running around Yonkers photographing for the chamber of commerce.
Each year they do a readers poll to find the “best of” Yonkers. Stores, Restaurants, you name it.
I had a few favorites from the bunch. My all time favorite was Harrys Shoe Repair in the square. The owner was so cool and had this awesome store with wall to wall black and white photos, he even had the ceiling covered. Who knows maybe my shot of him will make it up there!

this next photo was shot in a tiny cigar shop where they roll fresh cigars. Not exactly my thing but the location and old school cigar rollers were awesome.

This last shot was simply a pint of Guiness. But after running around yonkers in 100 degree heat nothing was better : ) thats kinda why it made it into my favorites, I felt guilty that I drank it so fast, I figured it was an easy way to make it live on forever!

marilena and danny : 2009.7.25
Marilena and Danny’s wedding was the grand finale for the Balbi family and I. All together I photographed three weddings for them. I have to say that I felt honored that they selected me to photograph each wedding and also that they trusted me to do something different each time.
The image in the turn style at Playland is one of my favorite images in the series. So much that I added it to the opening section of my main site! Hey Marilena your going to be famous ; )

These next two images were photographed in the highly anticipated “new” lobby of the surf club.
Did it meet all the hype?
Lets just say I was impressed.

kim and rich : engaged
What a perfect night.
I just finished photographing Kim and Rich for their engagement and I could not be happier. We went to Manor Park in Larchmont, usually with a wedding party we stop right at the entrance because its a bit of a challenge to motivate an entire bridal party and also quite a hike for everyone to go into the park. BUT today we didn’t have any of those restrictions so away we went. The park itself is huge and has so many options for photos. Kim you look absolutely beautiful Im loving the first shot! Thanks for laying in the grass : )

anna and anthony : 2009.7.12
If you read this blog you probably remember Anna and Anthonys engagement session. If not you can see one of their shots on the main page of this site. Its the photo of them near the surfboards. I knew when we finished the engagement session that the wedding day was going to be awesome. The camera loves them! Not to mention they always have great “things.” Come on surf boards, who has 5 surfboards in there truck!
I never doubted that Anthony would have a cool car pick Anna up at her house, but a 1958 Chevy Impala. Seriously? That car is so damn cool. I could have spent an hour just shooting them in the car.
We went to Playland for some of the photos and finished up at the Marina in the Bronx.
If you liked Anna’s hair it was done by her cousin michelle, Hi michelle! Contact me for her information.
Dave From Moving pictures was on the job again and as you all know we get along famously. If you want a sick video to go along with your wedding album give him a call.

Yeah, he’s sitting on the shed.

This shot is so bad ass. I wouldn’t mess with these girls! Oh and don’t worry I took one of them smiling.

cheryl and michael : 2009.7.11

This is one of the best photos I have ever taken at Manor Park. Are you kidding me with that wind, I couldn’t of paid for it to be so perfect.

Ok this is another one of the best photos I have ever taken at Monor Park, I can’t choose.

The slide show music is one of my favorite songs of all time. Im bringing it back because, well I forgot what there first dance song was : ) and 2 because Regina Spektor is super talented and has a new album out, and I advise everyone to go get it!!
This weekend I am working at the marina del ray twice and with Dave from Moving Pictures twice. Dave and I will make sure we mix it up. The two of us hate to do the same thing twice.

more from Tennessee
Ill be back tomorrow evening and available to talk if anyone needs me.
Until then here are some more photos from Tennessee.
We are in Franklin right now thats only 20 minutes from Nashville.
Catherine’s sister Teri and her husband David have a gorgeous home/ranch on tons of property.
The coolest thing ever is they have a stream on the property that runs down from a mountain
and after it rains arrowheads are scattered all over the stream.
Not kidding. Native American arrowheads wash right down the stream.
I found 5 none of them were perfect but Teri has 2 completely intact.
All in all this was a great trip and very relaxing.
I’m raring to go for the second quarter of the wedding season.

This is where I found the first arrowhead. Think about how cool this is, the last person to touch this was a native american 200 something years ago. Wow!

We had some left over sparklers to play with.

Here is little G running Bailey.
