melissa and john : 2009.6.28
Another day wedding this one took place at the awesome Harvest on the Hudson. I love it there.
Its a restaurant in the evening but they do weddings during the day.
This place has it all. Awesome food, an insane location for photos and a really different banquet room.
We met really early yesterday morning to knock out the photos before the ceremony.
This was really important when you have a day wedding and everything is at one location.
If we wait until after the ceremony for the photos then we only have a few minutes between
the ceremony and reception to take photos and I almost never get what I want to get done.
Melissa and John were great subjects and the photos are really something that I’m proud of.
Hey Melissa not bad considering : ) I will talk to you when you get back!

celeste and steve : 2009.6.27
Saturdays wedding was a day wedding. I love day weddings!
Forget about the obvious the party is over at 6 and I get home before the girls are asleep.
But the vibe is so different from an evening affair that its so refreshing to attend.
People hang out all over the reception site; outside, in the room, on the dance floor its awesome.
The ceremony was at Resurrection Church in Rye, so the park photos were a no brainer… Playland.
Everyone knows I love shooting on the boardwalk, at the end there is a pier that has a covering for those hot sunny days.
I somehow convinced Celest to sit on the railing of the pier (she is afraid of heights)
But with a little help from Steve she didn’t think to much about it! Up she went.
Glad she did it gave me the opportunity to shoot a different angle on the boardwalk.
I loved these photos so I’m blogging 12 of them.

By the way Ronnie rocked the candid’s at this wedding. If you interested in a second candid photographer remind me to show you this wedding as a sample!

Updates…
Hey all.
So I decided to update the blog with a little bit of “whats going on!”
As you can tell we are in the heart of the wedding season.
This year I will shoot more weddings then any other year. I’m humbled by this.
Everyones positive feedback is so much appreciated. I promise to not sit back and relax,
The intensity that I brought for the past 10 years will only grow stronger!
Website
I noticed that the gallery section of my website was getting a bit stale. Partly because I update the blog so often, I didn’t think that anyone even looked at the gallery.
Nevertheless I updated the gallery with three new weddings. (I left Danielle and Rob up there because I feel like that is a great representation of a winter wedding.)
If you get a second check out my choice’s let me know what you think.
Oh and the music was changed as well. As much as I like starting the playlist off with Lisa Hannigan I have to admit if I hear that song one more time I might lose it! The song that starts the website off is now “Forever” by Ben Harper, his lyrics are awesome.
Makeup artists
At least once a week I get asked about make up artisits. So I put together my list of artists that I think are masters of their craft.
In no particular order.
- Angela Civale – (914) 879-4161
- Jill Imbrogno (845) 661-7717 - www.jkflashy.com
- Rosalba – (917) 968-3535
- Vanessa Tarricone – I only have her email.
These four artisits are by far the best I have ever encountered.
Video
Video is such a nice addition to a killer wedding album. And of course I feel like I know some of the best in our area.
This post I decided to highlight Dave Venturini from Moving Pictures, but to be fair I will link all three of them in this post. I leave it up to you to decide who suits your needs.
- Dave Venturini
- Robert knowles
- Ed Neary
Dave/Moving Pictures actually just designed a new package that will cover everyones budget and style preference. He calls it the clean package. It is aimed at the person who wants a clean video with perfect audio and none of the bells and whistles. If this is something you need Check out this post on daves blog. It will explain it all.
Locations
This year my goal was to find obscure locations for the portrait portion of the day. I feel like this was a contagiouse thing with some of you. I received tons of emails and phone calls saying I found the perfect spot. I love it, I now have a network of people searching for something different. This industry is in for a shock! Or a wake up call. I hope all the other photographers are listening People want something different!!!
If you have any great ideas for location please let me know. I would love to scout it out and tell you if it will work.
Oh and for those of you that are still a bit traditional of course I still go to the normal spots Untermeyer, Pepsi and Glenn Island.
So thats it for now, If you would like to talk about anything above feel free to call me.
Oh and no posts wthout a photo.
This is Gretchen from West Palm Beach. Me and the girls escaped two weeks ago so I could reset. I didnt tell anyone because I didnt want my weekend brides to freak
Remember when being covered in sand was the greatest feeling in the world.

We went to visit my best friend EJ and his beautiful family. EJ and I have known each other since preschool!!

vickie + john : 2009.6.21 [ jason ]
Despite the rain, or threat of rain most of the day; Jason created some awesome images for Vickie and John. What a better setting than Queens and NYC!? The day was exciting to say the least. Not the typical wedding scenario at all. Chauffeured not by a limo, but a yellow NYC taxi cab! Jason stopped traffic in the middle of the West Village to take advantage of the charm of the city.
JD, I think you did an amazing job. The circumstances of weather and lighting were certainly not ideal and you nailed it! Vickie and John, thanks for including us in your day. You guys look fantastic. Enjoy.

karen + gerry : 2009.6.20
What a crazy day, once again rain, Im so sick of the friggin rain!
Thank god gerry and karen didn’t let the weather bring them down. Their energy pushed us all through.
And I found a positive, the rain gave Untermeyer this over saturated look to all the photos.
Dave from Moving Pictures shot the video and edited a show for the wedding. See that here.

This slide show was exactly how I showed it on the screens the DJ set up.
Who happens to be a great friend of mine and an awesome DJ. Jamie VIllarie.
The music is their first dance song, Amazed by Lonestar

Sorry for the delay in posting this guys! I was exhausted last night and when I woke up Catherine and I decided to take the girls to see a movie.
Anyway, what a day. The rain started as soon as we got to church and stopped right as we were going to start the photos at beckwith pointe. Can you believe that timing?!?

Slide show music is their first dance song – (Everything I Do) I Do It for You by Brian Adams
Dave from Moving pictures was on the job. He showed this at the wedding during dinner. So cool!
